The world lost beautiful soul this weekend. My friend Sharon was generous of heart and spirit. She gave of herself always in whatever way she could. She was young and a tremendously hard worker, an in-home nurse who worked multiple jobs just to keep a studio apt roof over her kids' heads and food in their bellies.
There wasn't a penny left over, so she had no insurance. After two trips to hospitals to find out why she was in so much pain, where she was turned away without care because she had no insurance (once after actually being told she was wasting tax payer money!), she had a heart attack and died. I'm blessed to have known her and to have had my grandparents under her care during their last days. Goodbye, Miss Sharon, you will be missed.
