Hello everyone and Happy Mother's Day! I hope everyone's weekend has been great and that everyone is getting to spend time with their families

That is seriously sad, i hope that it doesn't actually happen, the whole copyright law. I mean as long as you aren't in anyway profiting financially from it, writing fanfiction should really be ok. In fact its more of a way of increasing your fandom, according to me. I know for a fact that some of the hp fans have never read the book, only watched the movie and read fanfics...so i hope this doesn't can't carry out. But it's stealing, what that girl did, you shouldn't profit from writing fanfiction because it isn't your idea, only the plot is, but the characters the settings and all those little quirks are not really yours ...for the most part you are just adapting it to your imagination which is brilliant as long as you don't around claiming it to be yours. It's really sad how much people have been plagerising, and even online stories get plagerised all the time. Imitation of that kind really isn't flattery, i don't understand why one person has to spoil it for everyone, rotten apples and all. Anyway hope you had a good mother's day...i personally forgot that it was and feel so amazingly awful about it, i was so busy studying crazily for exams i forgot about my mom.....feel so evil...i hope i can eventually make it up to her... and do keep updating about this!
I agree that writing fanfiction is technically illegal if the writer and publishers wanted to pursue it, but as long as writers aren't against it there's usually no problem.
The thing with this book is the writer didn't even really have her own plot. It's supposedly close to verbatim with A New Hope Episode IV. She just has Ryoo Naberrie(Padme's sister's child) aboard the Death Star helping Leia and Han and the gang make it to Alderaan before it gets snuffed out. So,hmm, makes me question her intelligence even more.
That aside maybe this won't get blown out of proportion and hopefully the authors who don't care for fanfiction don't get involved.
I bet your mother will understand about exams and all concerning Mother's Day. I used to almost forget all of the time before I met my husband and for some reason the more mothers I have to remember the easier it is for me.lol Strange really.
