The little things that give me pleasure

The little things in life that give me pleasure
(how can you tell I'm writing this in winter?)

- The crunch from stepping on a thin sheet of white ice
- when the sun comes out after a snowfall
- walking, jumping in, or skiing on fresh powdered snow
- Hoarfrost on trees
- an amazing mountain view
- watching a horse run
- the chattering of magpies
- a clear night
- pure laughter
- anything that smells good
- sun showers
- splashing in puddles
- reading a good book
- reminiscing with old friends
- looking at childhood photographs
- that first sip of cold pop
- writing on the first sheet of a new pad of paper
- a phone call from my parents or fiance
- the smell of a barn
- popping bubble wrap
- jumping in a pile of leaves
- sun dogs
- shooting stars
- warm spring afternoons
- cheese fondue
- spinning in a circle until dizzy
- having someone else brush my hair
- the multi-facted sparkle of a diamond or crystal in the sun
- watching a lightning storm
- the sound of wind through shivering aspen
- the smell of fresh cut grass
- walking barefoot through thick green grass

I'm sure I could think of much more, but I have to go to class!

random, personal
