I've officially lost all hope in humanity. These turds from other parts of the country have no clue about the public housing issues in this city. They're just a bunch of sheltered brats who were raised with a false sense of reality. The bottom line: the old, dilapidated public housing must go. Before the storm, it had become nothing more than a crime-ridden drug haven for criminals with a few good-hearted people living in fear. These ghettos led to the downfall of local businesses and also set up an ongoing pattern of failure for the residents within. It's not a race issue, which so many people want it to be. Not only does the city need a better solution for public housing, but the qualifications need to lean more towards a temporary solution, as they were originally intended, and focus on helping the residents help themselves. It's gotten to where the residents are simply lazy with no personal goals and are content with what the government gives them. There's no excuse for a healthy and capable individual to have lived his/her entire life in public housing. It's really sad that they keep electing shitty officials who they believe support them, when all the officials do is pocket the funding. The more public housing needs, the more funding for the officials to pocket. It's an ongoing cycle, and that's what these little twerps fail to understand.
