Shoes/slippers woes

I need... something with a footbed like a birkenstock, with warm fuzzy warmth like Uggs or a good pair of slippers.

I suspect it doesn't exist.

I could say I need time to get back to knitting a ton of socks for myself, but there's just so much else to do!

You need a crocinstock!... Birkencroc? One of the furred versions of a croc, with a footbed like a birk, anyway. Perhaps write to Birkenstock and explain this? (Wouldn't hurt...)

Hrm. Perhaps get someone to make an over-the-birk "sock" with an opening at the bottom, like ice skate covers that have a hole for the blade? Then just make the "sock" part of the birk with some careful looping? I don't know Birks well enough to know if that'd work...

My feet might be a little bit warmer - but my heels and ankles would still be cold.

I went and dug out my favorite pair of handknit socks. They're wearing a lot, though. I used to spend most of the time I now spend on WoW on knitting instead.

I have a pair of Cloud slippers by Earth shoes. I love them! They don't have *quite* as much support as regular Earth shoes or Birkenstock shoes, but they're not bad, and they aren't clogs, so they keep the heels warm as well.
