This is going to sound absolutely bizarre, but of everyone I’ve ever been romantically involved with, you are my very favorite to have an argument with (although thankfully we very rarely have anything even vaguely resembling a real argument). You don’t fight dirty, you don’t yell, you don’t close down, you don’t run away, and you don’t let me get away with unintentionally steamrolling your counterpoints for very long before you call me on it. ;-) You also know that a genuine apology is not a weakness, and can admit fault when it’s merited. Above all, no matter how we argue, I still feel loved and am not afraid of you leaving me over a heated word or two, which was never the case in any of my past relationships.
For my part, I’m sorry for my overreaction, it just took me completely by surprise. Can I claim pregnancy hormones? I haven’t really gotten any mileage out of that excuse while I’ve been pregnant so far.
I love you, my Jonno. Being with you, even when we hit speed bumps, is by far the smartest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. I can’t wait to hold the little person that is part of both of us.
