Oh... the part I forgot to mention ... On the 386 systems I typically ran Desqview/386 or Desqview/X on top of DOS to provide multitasking, even into the windows days. As soon as OS/2 Warp came on the market, I snatched it up and used it until sometime in 97, when I finally gave in and went to Windows. Around 2001-2003 I attempted to use Linux exclusively, but gave up in a fit of rage when the word processor I was using decided to crash *while saving the file* and an entire 10 page research paper since it trashed the file. What made me mad was that it was a "known issue" when I reported it, and therefore marked invalid. The fix? Upgrade to the "CVS" development version. Which would have required upgrading a dozen other things in my OS, and for me to recompile the word processor on my own. No fix was backported to any actually usable versions. That's the last time I seriously even tried to use Linux. My dad has tried to get me to use it since (I converted him!), but every time he tries to install it on my computer, something goes seriously wrong, so I won't let it near my PC now.

Aww pity. Us Apple users share a kind of brother/sisterhood with Linux users. :)
