I think my luck has borderline personality disorder... it's like it's all or nothing
I was thinking for awhile that maybe I just had the worst luck ever.. since I seem to be a trouble magnet and I attract somewhat dangerous or potentially deadly situations. Because on the one hand, I've had all these strange things happen... like random deadly heart defects... witnessing a homicide... getting bitten by a dog (even though i have good dog skills)... breaking toes... tearing my plantar fascia...
And yet on the other hand.. I sometimes have really good luck... I've never been rejected from any school I ever applied to... I've never, not gotten a job I applied for... which is pretty amazing... I keep waiting for the day when it all goes wrong.. I thought that day would be now... and I guess it still might be... but in the meantime I'm keeping my fingers crossed. What I'm talking about, it TA-ing for anatomy. I really want to TA in the fall.. mostly because I have nothing else much to do.. and I'm already extremely bored. I figure.. helping in the lab would be a good way to keep my mind working.. plus it would just be fun. I figured however.. that this was not going to work out.. because I'm not technically a student.. since I've graduated, and I'm not even taking any extra classes in the fall... However.. I e-mailed Andy the other day.. and he said he may have found a way to get around the fact that I'm not registered for classes.
How amazing would that be if it works?
And my luck with jobs would continue to hold.
What's even better is that my Dad even wants me to get the job.. I probably won't make as much money as I would just working at the office all summer... but I guess with him it's not so much about being a money making machine.. as it is about putting in the effort.
Lets see.. other good news...
My diploma came in the mail on Saturday! It's all shiny and pretty and it has my name on it.. and "Cum Laude" under my degree name.. I didn't know they put that on there. That was a nice suprise. It would have been nicer if I had mangaged to graduate Magna Cum Laude.. but whatever. Still, I went out and I bought a frame and some matting (green to match the lettering on Cleveland State University) It looks nice.
AAAANNND... more good news!
We went to a dog show yesterday on the east side... where we talked to quite a few poodle breeders aaand we may have found a dog! He's a white standard male, 1 yr old.. his name is Doc.. and he's a show dog.. but he's not really working out as a show dog.. He'd make a good pet though. So the lady is gonna see how he does at a dog show this next weekend.. and if she decides it's not gonna work out with him.. she's going to let us have him for 500 dollars!! Which is an absolutely awesome deal! I really want to call him Doodle.. so he could be Doodle the Poodle. and we can call him Dude for short.
So hopefully we'll know shortly before we leave or come back from Seattle. So keep your fingers crossed. And even if we don't get him.. several breeders have our name and phone number. So, it would just be a matter of time. :)
Hopefully we'll get Doc though.
Keep your fingers crossed!
