The Study Wheel Goes 'Round and 'Round

Feb 29, 2008 19:28

So, heading back to campus early tomorrow--it's not like I actually had a break anyway, so I don't mind too much. I've been researching and studying every day, which is rather wearing, but oh well. I think I've made a dent, which is good.

I went to see "Mr. Magorium's Magic Emporium" last night to unwind a bit, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FILM! It was so adorable and funny and it had a great soundtrack and all of the actors were just fantastic. Seriously, if you haven't seen this film yet, GO SEE IT. It's wonderful.

Geek moment: I think I'm going to be able to take Latin again this fall, which I'm very excited about. It's been a while since I've been able to take a "real" Latin class (i.e. not a directed study with just me and the professor) and I'm getting really rusty. I'm debating whether or not to take Beginning German, but I have the feeling that, having been through three foreign languages already, the building blocks class would just be dull and not useful. I'll probably make a professor friend of mine teach me the sped-up basics so I can at least hack my way through scholarly articles, which is really all I need it for anyway. Note to self: I must get back into Spanish and French. Must.

Shameless plug: Head over to www.marcgunn.com and search out his cat version of "Danny Boy"--it's pretty funny, especially if you've had a cat at any time of your life.

I'm sort of stir crazy because I've been cooped up with dusty old research books all week; I love it, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I think if I have to read another book on Arthurian literature or the Soviet Union I'll tear my hair out. And I'm not anywhere close to being done. Plus now I have a midterm on Monday--which, thankfully, moves my presentation back, but I think I'm much more prepared for the presentation than the midterm.
Eh. Barely controlled hysteria. Been there, done that.
