Hi all, I just joined this community and I'm wondering if you can help me out.
I'm a BIG fan of Celtic music, if Moravian College has a minor in it, I would probably minor in Celtic music, but alas they only have a concentration in Celtic Fiddle (maybe I should take up fiddle?).
Anyways, I also love love love playing traditional reels and stuff like that, (Brian Boru March (I know that's not a reel its fun to play!), Mist Covered Mountains (again not a reel) and finally Road to Lisdoonarva (sp? and that is a definitely a reel) plus I like playing some other well known songs as well.
I acquired a lap harp for christmas as a beginning instrument and era for me as a harpist.
Question:
I was wondering if there was any good free harp sheet music that's printed on line? My harp is in C Major and is basically the smallest variation of a orchestra harp I'd like do say, as it doesn't have that high pitched sound that a celtic harp has. Unless you can tune it that way?
I also have rediscovered the recorder that I learned to play in elementary school. The one I have is made from hard plastic, and I was wondering if there was a difference in tone from what the material it is made from. Like, if it is made from wood, would it be more in tune? Or if it is made from tin, etc.
Thank you for listening to me ramble and I am ecstatic that Bethlehem Pa has a Celtic Festival! :)
