What a week

Ah, end of my first week of work.

It's been pretty awesome, hour and a half commute aside.  I've seen none of the petty and childish drama that pretty much defined my work life for the previous 9 months.  It's refreshing to work for a company that's much more professional, though I'm sure once I get into my own store and get to know the people better, there will be some drama.  Office politics, competition between stores and districts, and then all the typical little gripes that come with simply having people working together.  Really, though, that'll be easy to deal with after what the norm was with my old boss.

The current drive sucks rocks, but it's only for one more week.  I told the ladies who are training me that I was really looking forward to the week ending, but not because of them.  Fortunately, they got it, as 3 of the 4 of them can't fathom waking up at 5:30am to do anything less than catching a vacation flight or having a baby (one of them is due in a month, and she wants baby out NOW).

After I'm done there, it's 2 weeks of training at a store a bit closer.  Only a 45 minute drive each way.  Once that's done, it's 21 minutes in moderate traffic and just 12 miles to where I'll be!  Woohoo!

The house is shaping up, slowly but surely.  Much more slowly now with my work schedule, but that'll get easier as my training moves on.  Just waiting for my first paycheck and our tax refund, and then we'll be picking out the girls' bedding sets and paint colors and whatnot.  The master bathroom, powder room and kitchen (as well as Tom's mancave) will all wait until my old condo's sold.

Kids are happy, my Sweetie's happy, and I'm happy if tired.  Life is going pretty damn well.  :D
