the funniest thing ever
Okay, so at dinner tonight, my friend Alex was eating with us. He noticed another friend at the salad bar not far from our table, so he decided to scoot his chair backwards over to her to startle her. So as he scoots back, with a cupcake in his hand, the legs of his chair get caught on a tiny ridge in the floor. As his chair falls slowly backwards, his eyes get really wide and his jaw drops. The chair hits the floor, Alex rolls out of his chair, head over heels, and manages to wrap his legs around the girl who he wanted to startle. The rest of us at our table are in complete shock, but the whole dining hall bursts into laughter and clapping. We end up laughing so hard, tears are running down my cheeks, as Alex takes a bow to the sounds of laughter from all around the room. He took his seat calmly, and we laughed even harder as we realized that the cupcake never even hit the floor. It was so perfectly timed and executed, it should have been planned, and I am still smiling and laughing.
