Sitting at my kitchen table at home, squeezing water out of the linguistics textbook I'd just started to read for fun yesterday afternoon, wearing a neck brace. Was there something I forgot to repent for on Thursday? Maybe the sin of ridiculous situations? I actually think it's kind of funny, the over-a-week-long rain that made the stairs in Morril IV slippery so I fell on my bum and got whiplash; the rain that is making everything wet. Comical - What's the weather for today? Rain. What about tomorrow? Rain. Cold and rain. Wind if you're lucky. Bad weather makes a common experience, something for the primadonnas in my writing class to express themselves about. Rain in excess. Wet. Dangerous but also protective, because it puts out fires. The time Cressa and I got stuck in the woods in the middle of the night when we were supposed to be making kids carry us on Aliyah bet. It was stormy and they cancelled the woods part, but didn't send anyone to get us. The lightning that almost hit Elliot; another time, the power outtage during our revo. That whole summmer. For a job - Required qualifications: quick thinking, a sense of humor, and previous experience with rain.
