Back in the Commonwealth
I've arrived! Four days of driving fun with royalgeekg. We stopped in Chicago to visit our dear friend emherbert I haven't seen in at least five years and she hasn't seen in nine and it was so much fun! I have added Chicago to my list of cities in which I would be happy to live. I taught royalgeekg how to drive stick and she did very well! (She only stalled the car once and I think it was either when she was downshifting or trying to start. Both are very difficult.) But we made it, had a great time, saw a large swath of the US and had some great moments. Some of which included sunsets in the rearview mirror, missing the Mississippi River as we crossed over it, and losing the fuel cap before we had even left Boulder. (I'm awesome.) But the people in Nebraska are very nice, and all the 'I' states we passed through were beautiful. The next time I drive across the country, I'm taking I-80.
