My 27th year is off to a great start
If the rest of the year continues the way it has started, it's going to be a banner year. Success and happiness, here I come! ;)
Reasons the first three days have been great in chronological order:
1) Having my e-mail box full of birthday wishes from lots of people.
2) Getting a delicious cake from my boss at the concerts office (chocolate layer with chocolate mousse) followed by "Happy Birthday" by kazoo band in harmony, of sorts.
3) Being given free box seat tickets to see an opera.
4) Starting the drinking at 5 with homemade limoncello at a sake bar a short walk from school.
5) Getting a free t-shirt at the restaurant where we had dinner instead of dessert.
6) Not getting home until 1.
7) Going to brunch Saturday morning, then a late lunch Saturday afternoon.
8) Having a lot of people over for a party during which I drank too much (but not being atrociously drunk or hung over)
9) Receiving a bottle of Scotch and a little sampler bag of natural body care stuff.
10) Seeing an awesome opera. (Wagner's Der Fligende Hollaender as a concert opera, so no costumes or sets, just fabulous singing.)
11) Realizing that after Tuesday I'll have a lot more free time and can return to some semblance of normalcy!
12) Having beautiful weather for three days in a row!!
(This is not said to make people feel guilty about not knowing about my birthday. I'm not good at publicizing that sort of information.)
