Whew!! What a busy 10 days I just had. I had a blast, loved being back in the mid-west and loved seeing people. Quick overview, Mitch and I got into Minneapolis on Friday night, spent the night at his sisters house, then drove to Appleton on Saturday. Celine surprised me with a round of Kappa Golf on Saturday night. It was a lot of fun, they have some awesome girls in that chapter. I am really impressed with everyone and was glad to meet people. Sunday, we had lunch with Jason and I went to the Kappa meeting, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ROOM!!! Again, impressed alumnus here!! Then Monday morning we went to breakfast with Bart and left. I enjoyed seeing everyone but it is a completly different campus now. Lawrence doesn't change a bit, there is alwasy drama with boys, the chapter and school but its nice to know that the essance of lawrence doesn't really change.
We got the his parents house Monday night and his whole family was there. I have already met his oldest brother and sister-in-law and his older sister but everyone else was new. And they were loud and just a good bunch of people. It was a littel stressful when his parents started freaking out about us moving to Alaska but that is expected. They haven't moved more than 10 miles away from where they grew up and can't contiplate the idea of anyone moving out of Minnesota. His mom is just a doll, very sweet and nice. I think I won her over in the end. We had some lazy days, walked through the woods at his property, took his boat out for a spin. I went out with him on Friday night to a local bar and he was either related to half of the bar or went to high school with the other half. His town is only 545 people so SUPER small. Saturday we went to his older brother's house and went out on the pontoon boat. It was a lot fo fun and then we drove up to the city for the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill concert. I was dissapointed in Faith Hill, not the best but Tim was awesome. And their duets were beautifully sung. Sunday we were flying out at night. They needed some voluteers to give up their seat for a first class seat the next morning, a free night at the hotel and a $300 travel voucher. We jumped on that deal, that might get us home for Chirstmas or for his cousin's wedding in October. So i got home this morning and am exhausted. I coudl have left Saturday without any worries but I am glad we were there for the lenght. I told Mitch that if he wanted to mover back to Minnesota after Alaska, as long as were were more than an hour from his mother, I would be able to handle that. It made him so happy!! He also said that I could start looking at engagement rings but not to expect anything untill after we get to Alaska. So things are going really well.
Back to work for me!!
