Well, it's been a week since I've updated, so I figure I should write something.
Friday night was XWA Massacre. OMG, that show was amazing. Last month I said that Counter Strike was the best show ever. As great as that show was, this show was so much better. The place was packed, every seat filled, with many more people standing in the back. All the wrestlers put on a great show. We were 20 bucks short of a grand!!
Saturday, of course, was Valentine's Day. Nothing special there, as I spent the day alone, as usual. Then in the evening I went to the symphony to hear Mahler 1. There was also the Mendelssohn Wedding March and his Piano Concerto No. 1 on the program. The piano concerto was simply incredible, without a doubt one of the greatest live solo performances I've ever seen/heard. It was some Brazilian pianist I'd never heard of. He replaced Lang Lang on short notice. This man was amazing. His name is Arnaldo Cohen. The Mahler was really good too, with the exception of the numerous botched spots by the french horns and trumpets, but what can ya do? Overall, it was really good concert.
There's only one word to describe Sunday. Wow! That day was amazing from beginning to end, and I thank you.
So, moving on to today. There's no school, of course. I've been practicing most of the day up until now. I have a masterclass to play at tonight down at IU. I'm excited, except it's gonna be kinda late so I'm gonna get home around midnight. This means I'm gonna be really tired Tuesday. That's gonna be a busy day for me too, even though I only have one real class. During SRT, I'm gonna be rehearsing my solo piece with the orchestra, kinda putting some finishing touches on it. Then 7th period I have to play the piece for the freshman orchestra students. Then tomorrow evening is the dress rehearsal for the concert. Whew! Like I said, a busy day. But it all culminates on Thursday evening, which is when I perform my solo with the orchestra.
Anyway, that's all for now.
