As part of offering a meal-offering the priest would scoop some of it
with his hand onto the altar. (There are long discussions, not on this
daf, about how much he must scoop, BTW.) The mishna on today's daf talks
about the case where the handful of one meal-offering becomes mixed with
that of another. In most cases the offerings both remain valid according
to the mishna; R. Yehudah calls out two cases where they are not, arguing
that the textures are different in those cases. In other words, it
appears that if you can't tell the difference by inspection all remains
valid, but if you can tell the difference, the mixing invalidates. (22a)
