Catching Fire
Just read the 2nd book in the Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, and I was pleasantly surprised! I quite liked it! Perhaps it's the 3rd book people were warning me about as being not as good? But I thought this one effectively enlarged the scope of the book's world and upped the stakes in a believable way. I like that Katniss is the imperfect character she is.
Of course, just like the 1st book, it also ended on a bit of a cliffhanger with many unanswered questions and unknown fates! Agh! So glad I'm not reading these as they came out!
