Suggestions on places

I'm looking for a quaint used book store (NO POWELLS)and/or something offbeat and cultural I can check out here in the Portland area.

Any suggestions?

I'd suggest, Laughing Horse (on Division and 36th), or In Other Words (Hawthorne and 37th)

Those have always been my favorites, beyond Powells.
