In worse cases, there are obsessions within obsessions (just like dreams within dreams!-- no points for guessing one of my current obsessions). Like Edith Piaf.

But you have to admit Edith Piaf is a very good obsession to have.

Oh yeah, there's a lot of speculation that woman was deified in the early ages of humanity-- I believe it, because it makes sense. Women have always been self-sufficient, life-giving, and all around total badasses. It's modern religion that has taken us off the pedestal we deserve to be on and made us out to be less than men.

Oh, now I'm curious. Was there ever any age where humanity in general began to turn so patriarchal, or was it a lot of little unconnected changes that joined the whole?

Maybe it's the culture here, because if you talk randomly to a person, people give you a dirty look for disturbing their peace. I'll have to see if it really happens elsewhere before I think more about this. \o That sounds utterly depressing though, that-- well, just like that, women were oppressed for so long
