(no subject)
I think my house ate my Olympus camera box. Seriously, where the hell is it?! I've spent about a week turning the damned house upside down, but IT IS NOWHERE IN SIGHT. Gfdit. I just hope R--hid doesn't blow a fuse at me tomorrow for not having reference. And I've been so good with doing my work on time these couple of weeks too. >:
Went to a capoeira lesson on Friday to get a good feel of the movement for my project, and-- W-wow. I'm so impressed. The movement was relentless elegance, roiling and aggressive without being overly so. They were practicing the Angola style, so it was considerably slower and less flashy than the regional (which is apparently pronounced hey-jo-nal, with a French spin on the 'j'). Nevertheless, the last round in the roda that evening was still really fast, after the maestre got them to speed the music up.
I really want to join now. ;;_________;; It looked like so much fun. But I can't think of anything else now except my schoolwork. >| ONWAAAAAAAARD!!
Terence, the guy I got permission from to come down to sketch the capoeiristas, mentioned that my sketches of them looked like dinosars, hahaha. But I guess gestural sketches are always fudgy. And he's my senior from school too, how cool is that! :D
