This past weekend, there was a screening of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie for Hollywood executives, distributors, bookers, and a handful of normal movie-goers. After the screening, Disney (parent company of The Guide's distributor, Touchstone) promptly APOLOGIZED FOR WASTING THE AUDIENCE'S TIME. That's how bad it was. Another comment of note was "On par with Battlefield Earth." Apparently, the company tried to turn it into a Disney movie. Ridiculously toned down, omitting entire plot points, and other general Disney-fying.
