Sometimes your worst enemy is really your best friend because they reflect the darkest parts of your own personality. It is normal to dislike such a person, but a person of strong character will learn to feel compassion. He must be suffering a great deal if he treats others so poorly. I had a similar relationship with a coworker, I nonetheless chanted for her happiness and she got fired for embezzeling money.
