hello

I suppose I'm due for an update once again.

I went shopping and whatnot with Kal on Tuesday. It was much, much funness. I got a nice shirt for $5, as well as two shirts from Hot Topic: One is of Kuroneko (the black cat from Trigun) (and the shirt is fuzzy ^^), and one is a Foamy shirt (it's a basic black t-shirt with this design on it). I'll have to post pictures sometime.

I also bought a Star Wars poster, entitled "Jedi." It's quite cool. Except I don't know if I can put it out in my room without my parents wondering what's wrong with me (I am a Trekkie, after all). Ah, well. I'll have the window cling from Burger King soon, so I can just have that out. That and the poster would probably be overload in my room.

And tomorrow I get to see Epi3 on the giant screen! *squee!*

My arm is sore from using the weed eater yesterday.

Laj and I had an interesting conversation last night, about a miracle weed eater that could cut down giraffes, and then I got the conversation to go to Koyasu, and "Don't rub the giraffe like that!!" (and only Kal and Zandra will get that... and Laj, because I explained it to her last night). I wish I had saved it.

I will be out of town this weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday evening. It'll feel weird to not talk with everyone, like I've been doing nightly for the past several days.

On a final note, it's quite interesting to watch Star Wars (epi4) once one has seen the prequels. Like, when a conversation happens between Luke's aunt and uncle:
Aunt: Luke's not a farmer, he has too much of his father in him.
Uncle: I know, that's what I'm afraid of.
Me: djafhdafkeafkndalANAKINakdhfladknfa (the way I said that will probably make no sense except to the chat room peoples, which is where I picked it up from).
...it puts a whole new spin on it. Even if you're watching 4-6 for the second time or whatever, it doesn't have the same impact, somehow. Because at that point, yes, you know they're talking about Darth Vader, but that doesn't really cause an emotional reaction or anything. In 4-6, Vader is little more than a machine, really. But once you've seen 1-3, it's like, "Wow, they're talking about Anakin." There's now a human face to the character, moreso than the brief humanness seen at the end of 6. Now they're not just talking about a person who went to the dark side, they're talking about a boy the audience has seen grow up, and seen fall to the dark side.
And, there're a few other little ironies in there. Like, when C-3PO is getting cleaned, and he exclaims "Praise the Maker" (or something like that), it's like, "...wow, he's praising Anakin." And yes, I know he doesn't remember that Anakin is his maker (Taylor). That doesn't change the irony at all, though. In fact, it probably adds to it. So there.
