North Dakota in mid-April.
The ducks and geese are squatting in the fields because there is no open water. They take off occasionally to fly around in circles and land again.
Robins are falling out of trees, frozen, because they can't find any worms to eat (all hiding under blanket of snow and ice) to keep them warm.
Today is the first day it's been over freezing.
Whee.
