Advice

I've been at my job for 5 months. Two weeks ago our hours got cut. We (the hourly employees in the admin offices) cannot work more than 32 hours a week until the new year. I make $10/hour. We just switched our medical insurance to me since it was cheaper and just as good. Overall we're actually still about $100 ahead monthly even after the hours cut due to this change.

The supervisor of the coffee shop is leaving. I've been considering applying for the position. I asked her and found out the position pays over $12/hour for 30-35 hours per week.

For the past 5 months I've noticed there was something inappropriate about the relationship between my boss and one of the sales managers he is over (there are only 5 people in the dept). I have also heard all the rumors about them from people in my dept and the other dept he is over (Banquets). This sales manager should have been fired many times over in the 5 months I have been there and has even been joked about to her by my boss. She gets away with everything she does. For the past 3 days she has not come in and not called and has events coming up (tomorrow, saturday) that she does not have the event orders out for, meaning no one knows about/can prepare for the event. In effect, the event doesn't exist until the event order is put out. This is typical behavior for her. Her grandmother had surgery on Monday which is why she was out on Monday, but was supposed to be back yesterday.

Today, while looking for the information on these events so we could put together some semblance of an event order so the kitchen and banquets had some information on it, I came across emails between them confirming their relationship is more than friendly.

I am a person who believes adultery should be punishable by castration at the most lenient. I was already losing respect for my boss, but now it's completely gone.

My first reaction to finding the emails was to give them to one of the superiors, but I don't know about that. I just want to switch positions.

I spoke with HR. To get the ball rolling I need to talk to my boss, his boss (which is directly over the coffee shop), and submit an internal application.

When asked, I don't know how to turn "I can't work for someone I don't respect and after finding these emails I can't respect my boss" into a usable reason for changing positions. Sure there are other reasons, but that is the biggest.
