I can't believe it's June already! The spring flew by so fast!!
We've been really busy over here! 2 weddings (plus a third coming up in a month), several trips up to Buffalo, drama at work, starting IVF, and of course, the three year old who needs to be active constantly. Right now, she's sitting down, watching Little Einsteins, and singing the theme as the show starts. She's just grown up so much in the last few months! Last night we had ice cream cones for dessert, and we were talking about something (of course I can't remember what), and I said the word "sister". Immediately, Celia said that she wants a sister...and a brother!! That she wants both! Right now! It was so funny, Nathan and I started laughing hysterically. We know that IVF gives us a good chance of multiples, but we're really hoping that it doesn't happen that way. Of course, we'll be thrilled if it does, it would just be a llot of extra added stress. One at a time, if possible, please! Anyway, we explained to her that we're working on it, and hopefully in a year or so she'll have at least one or the other.
As far as the IVF goes, for now everything is on hold. I started my first cycle a few weeks back, and ended up with 2 cysts growing, one on each side. They were functional (which was odd since I'm taking Lu.pron to supress ovarian function), so we triggered ovulation and are still taking the Lu.pron until my next cycle starts. Then we should be able to start the stims. I hope. Provided there aren't any cysts and my Estrogen level is low. The pain here would be with the timing. I'm part of a group that teaches an external class at work, and the class is the last week of June. Which, if everything goes well, would be when the egg retrieval and embryo transfer would be. Another lovely thing, would be that my best friend is getting married on the 30th, and I'm the matron of honor. Which I may have to miss. THEN, the following week (week of July 4th), we're supposed to spend in Canandaigua at my uncle's house for a vacation. I'm hoping that it will all happen a little faster, and that we'll be fine with all 3 things. But obviously it's out of my hands, and all I can do is wait and see.
Today we're going shopping for a new stove. Last weekend, we went strawberry picking, and I decided it would be fun to make Jam. So I did! And as it was boiling, the pot I used was slightly too small, and the jam went all over the stove. And burned on to the top. And started on fire. I got the fire out easily by blowing on it, but the surface is really scarred. At least the Jam was OK, and I got 7 jars out of the batch. Let me tell you how amazing it is, too! YUMMY. Anyway, our cleaning lady, Nathan and I have all tried to get the scarring off, and I don't think it's going to come clean. Of course, it's the big front burner, the one I use all the time. So, we're going to buy a new stove! At least I will get a bonus for working at my institute for 5 years, so that more than cover a new stove. Just annoying to have to do it now. I really wanted to replace the fridge first.
And since we'll be at the mall, we will have lunch at the food court. I like this idea because I've had such a horrible McDonalds craving the last few months. Not sure why, and it's very annoying. Plus it's supposed to rain today, so this will get Celia out of the house and away from the TV for a bit. Then we get to relax-- which is a really good thing. I now have so much respect for anyone who has gone through Menopause. I'm tired, misreable, and can't remember anything to save my life. How fun! I also started Acupuncture to help with the IVF and stress. My first session was Friday, and I"m already booked monday and friday for the next 2 weeks. Twice a week, and I really can't wait! After my first treatment, I just felt so incredible. This is going to be really good!!
I think that's all for the update!
