SCA
JAMIE!!! You need to get a new job, with regular hours, so we can join the SCA and go to PENNSIC!! Yea, it'll be tons of fun. Ok, I've been doing some digging, mostly because I have nothing better to do, and here's what I have for you to look at. Lots and lots of reading material. http://www.sca.org/ here is the website. The whole world is broken up into different kingdoms and we would be part of the East Kingdom. http://www.eastkingdom.org/ I've been looking around at the different Baronies in our area. Technically we are apart of the Barony of Bhakail because of where we live. http://bhakail.eastkingdom.org/ But all their get togethers are in Philly. There's an off shoot of them in Media, but that's still a little far and they don't seem to be as active as I'd like. http://www.feoragdubh.eastkingdom.org/index.php There's the Shire of Silver Rylle in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. http://silverrylle.eastkingdom.org/ I didn't really check them out too thoroughly. Then there's also the Shire of Caer Adamant that's the whole state of Delaware. http://www.caer-adamant.org/ They seem to be more active than the other ones and the places where they have meetings are within an hour from us. They even have their business meetings in Newark. I have no idea if they would let us join their group, since we don't live in DE, but I don't see why not and it doesn't hurt to ask.
Also, every year, in the summer, the have this war type of get together thing called Pennsic. It's basically, a competition between the East Kingdom and the Middle Kingdom. Well, it's more than that. http://www.pennsicwar.org/ It really looks like a lot of fun. It's a two week event (but you don't have to go all two weeks) where you go camping and go around and do...stuff. You have to read the site.
