[Random] A collection of updates
1) Ear is feeling much better. Surgery rescheduled to January 9th. >.< I hate that so much, you have no idea.
2) The promised list of holiday gifts from chrisbrad:
"The shittiest evergreen candle ever. It smells like burning candle."
A pen! (Only someone who works in clerical understands why this makes me happy.)
A Lion Among Men by Gregory Maguire - Third in the Wicked Years, which I am currently reading.
Wicked Gentlemen by Ginn Hale - Which I will read when I'm through with the previous book.
Four very shiny HP bookmarks, one for each of Hogwarts Houses! SQUEE! The Slytherin one is currently settled snugly in the pages of A Lion Among Men.
3) I have finished reading The Troy Game series by Sara Douglass, and I like it much more at the end than I did at the beginning. I'll write longer reviews later (when I get the time. X.x), but basically the way I see it, all the characters start out in the first book as stereotypes or archetypes of characters, so their relationships are also portrayed that way. As the series plays out, all of the main characters change in such profound, sometimes life-shattering ways, they grow and become real people. As such, they have to learn to let go of the things in their pasts that tie them down, and learn to step out of the roles they've created for themselves. It's really quite awesome.
4) I was supposed to do edits on "The Kahbid-Dai" for Shadowfire last night, and allowed myself to get distracted and totally forget. ;_; I am a bad person and author. But it looks like I will have time at work today (hopefully), so that is what I will do. No more distractions until it's done!
