[Tarot] New deck ordered!
I am never going to save money for a move this way. :(
So I've been feeling the itch for a new deck of Tarot cards.
One part of it is that I can't find my Revelations deck (damn it!) and I'm just itching to work with something other than my Robin Wood deck. Don't get me wrong, I love my Robin Wood deck; I think the RW is perfect for newbies, and general readings, and a whole host of things. But I'm never going to grow if I keep using only this deck, and obviously I want to grow... I need to grow. I loved the Revelations deck, but I didn't get to work with it much before it disappeared.
I also have the Goddess Oracle, but I don't use them much because they don't feel appropriate for much. Oracle cards are different from Tarot, and I'll admit, I've never really gotten a feel for how they're supposed to be used in a spread bigger than three cards (past, present, future setup). Still, if I were going to use an Oracle deck on a more regular basis, it wouldn't be these. They're gorgeous, but they feel specific to me. I only used them once during the One Card Draw Tuesday.
I also had another Oracle-type deck, called the Well Worn Path, that has also disappeared. >:( All this disappearing happened after my parents painted and rearranged my room during that first Disney trip, so I'm wondering where they got put. (I also couldn't find my athame, but I finally did... in the drawer of my bedside table that had been squeezed between my desk and my bed so the drawer couldn't actually be opened without hauling the table out to the middle of the floor almost.) I intend to ask my mom what she did with them, and she'll probably say she doesn't remember or didn't do anything with them.
Anyways, the other reason I'm getting this itch to work with another deck is because I'm putting the RW and Goddess Oracle cards through a cleansing process that will take a while. (Mostly because I'm going through and writing down my impressions of each card one by one, something I've never done with the Goddess Oracle and haven't in a while for the RW.)
So I want something new and shiny.
The point of all of this is that I went ahead and ordered a new deck. :D :D :D The Tarot of the Silicon Dawn. More than the usual number of cards, very interesting artwork, and a partial new suit. I think I'm going to enjoy these cards when I get them. These are the ones that called to me. So yay! I'm supposed to get them Monday, which means I'll have time to go through them, look at all the images and start getting a feel for them.
I'm excited! :D
