[Disney] *WAVES*

HELLO FROM DISNEY!

Looks like Disney is actually giving free wireless Internet to the moderate resorts, at least for the moment. So, yay!

Yesterday,
chrisbrad and I drove from home in Louisiana to Marianna, FL where we spent the night and allegedly had free wireless, but there was no signal. That was about nine hours. This morning we woke up at 5am in order to drive five hours from Marianna to ORLANDO!!! AND DISNEY WORLD.

The GPS lady took us the back way. It was interesting. There were no Disney signs whatsoever, and then suddenly purple Disney signs and we were driving by Cast Member areas. >.> Whoops.

Our room here at Port Orleans French Quarter was already ready for us when we arrived just after noon, which was awesome. We got to the room, unpacked, had a light lunch at the Sassagoula Floatworks (the POFQ food court) and headed off to the Magic Kingdom for a bit, before our 6pm reservation at 'Ohana.

We did the Haunted Mansion first, and got to see the new queue. It's pretty nifty, and there are pictures, but I don't think I've put any on Facebook yet. I will. And I have a Flickr account, so I'll be putting everything on Flickr eventually and sharing that link. Warning, though, since this is my third trip in two years, I don't take many of the expected pictures. Most of my pictures are of random things around the World that catch my interest.

Also, we broke the Haunted Mansion. It stopped three times while we were on it.

After the HM,
chrisbrad was very good and sat through the show at the Hall of Presidents for me. Morgan Freeman can narrate all the things forever as far as I am concerned. I rather enjoyed the large painting type thing on the screen with Abe Lincoln in the middle, and the armies of the North and South on either side of him. Very lovely and symbolic.

After that, we rode Pirates of the Caribbean, and
chrisbrad got wet during the sea/fort battle. XD

After PoTC, we walked all the way across the park to get on the Peoplemover, which is the best thing ever! Then we did Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and I WON!!!! FIRST TIME. I BEAT
chrisbrad, LET THE RECORD SHOW IT FOREVER.

Then we got back on the Peoplemover and broke that, too. It's interesting, though, because there are a couple of places on the track where you're just at the right angle to get a glimpse of the Fantasyland expansion construction going on.

(Also, there is a big crane next to Cinderella Castle taking down the Christmas lights. :( )

After the second Peoplemover ride, it was time to head over to the Polynesian and 'Ohana. 'Ohana is one of WDW's most difficult restaurants to get a reservations at, and it's one of the most expensive places that doesn't have a dress code. Luckily, they accept the dining plan! And we have the dining plan! And HOLY GODS SO MUCH FOOD. AND GOOD FOOD. But... OMGs. There's no menu, they just bring you food, and you can ask for more as much as you want. And there's bread, and a salad, and buffalo chicken wings and pork dumplings as a starter and then there's chicken and steak and pork and shrimp AS MUCH AS YOU WANT and lo mein noodles and broccoli and then after all of this (THAT YOU CAN GET MORE OF UNTIL YOU BUST) then there's bread pudding for dessert.

ALSO ALSO ALSO: PEANUT SAUCE. I am a fan of peanut sauce. Peanut sauce on EVERYTHING PLEASE.

So we were too tired and too worried about the monorail stopping service at 9pm to stay for the fireworks, so we are now back at the POFQ getting ready for bed. Tomorrow we have a lunch ADR at Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano at the Hollywood Studios, so that's where we heading for the morning, and then we'll probably head to the Animal Kingdom for the afternoon. I know we have a dinner ADR at Teppan Edo, Japan, World Showcase at Epcot on Thursday, but I don't know what we'll do that morning yet. We'll figure it out tomorrow evening or that morning.

For now, good night, all!
