[Tarot] It's time! The One Card Draw is here!

Mar 07, 2010 11:59

The One Card Draw is officially closed. Thanks to everyone who helped me celebrate the end of my JavaScript class with a One Card Draw! Whew, I'm tired. And HUNGRY. miintikwa, how do you do this for FOUR hours??

Welcome to my first ever One Card Draw!

First thing you need to know:

I am not a professional counselor of any sort, be it psychological, social, financial or whatever. If you are clinically depressed or facing other types of severe problems, I cannot solve them for you and you should seek a therapist, financial counselor, medical doctor, or other professional individual.

Now, on to the happier stuff!

The draw begins at Noon, Central Standard Time, and will officially end around 3pm Central Standard Time. If I’m lacking in requests, I may close the post sooner. On the flip side, if I’m flooded, I’ll officially close the post but keep drawing cards until everyone who commented before the deadline gets a card.

How to request a card:

Comment to this post any variation of “Give me a card, please!” and I will draw a card for you!
You don’t have to ask a question or tell me what this is about. You don’t even have to have a specific question in mind. You could just want to see what the universe has to say.

Give me time. I have a process I go through with each reading before and after I pull a card. Also, there may be requests ahead of you, or I might simply need a potty break!

I will draw for anyone who requests a card, so feel free to pimp this post in your journals, especially if you liked your reading!

I am not asking for payment at all.

Information about the deck:

I am using the Revelations Tarot deck created by Zach Wong. It’s a colorful, beautiful deck with artwork very reminiscent of stained glass windows, at least for me. It’s also intriguing because each card is double-sided; when you view a card reversed, there is actually a reverse artwork that mirrors the upright art, with differences sometimes subtle, sometimes obvious, that reflects the reversed meaning. So each card is almost like two cards in one. Also, many of the people depicted in the cards have a cyborg feel to their design. In all, it’s a very intriguing deck and I can’t wait to work with it more.

(I also use the Robin Wood deck, which has more of an art nouveau feel, and very straightforward imagery. It’s a great deck for beginners, in my opinion, but I feel ready to branch out. However, if you request that I draw from this deck instead, I will. Otherwise I will draw from the Revelations deck.)

Ready?

Set… go!
