Okay, so, thanks to a certain person I won't name ::COUGH::
icanhaspancake::COUGH:: squeeing all over her LJ about anime, I've been wanting to watch anime lately.
More importantly, though, and really the stronger urge, I've been wanting to finish up all that old fanfiction I've got floating around out there waiting for finishing. Even if some of it is horrible to me now, I owe it to people who've read them to at least finish them.
In some cases, I have the urge to rewrite. Ames Qui Dorment is a good example; there's a great story in there, but there's also things wrong with it. Much of the travel felt aimless even as I was writing it, and I'm sure I could make it better, shorten it. It feels kinda like the walking around the woods in Deathly Hallows. >.< Gods, Mended Wing is awful. Especially the beginning chapters. I am so, so very tempted to rewrite those, but with both AQD and MW, I won't rewrite before I finish. Finish first. Later, if I still want to rewrite, then I'll see about that.
Requiem really needs finishing too, especially because it was never intended to be more than five chapters, if even that many. Probably not. The way it always was in my head, I could probably finish it in two more. This one I really need to finish; for some reason, I have more reviews on this one than any of the others, so I feel more obligated.
I also want to think about maybe writing some multi-chapter HP fanfiction, which I haven't done since that travesty, Harry Potter and the Tsuki no Hime. Thank the gods I never wrote the sequel to that one. But yeah, after all the shortfics I've written, and the role-playing in the world I've done, I feel like I could write some really awesome multi-chapter HP fanfic.
Well, after
hp_rarities, of course.
And not until I finish that errant anime fanfiction, too.
So... I think as far as writing goes, for the moment I'm going to leave original writing alone and focus on fanfiction. It's only fair. Fanfiction has suffered for at least five years (that's the last time I updated AQD!!!).
So. There you go.
