went to
Bookay-Ukay last saturday. happy happy joy joy. i could stay in a thrift bookshop forever. anywho, just got 2 books though, but they are monumental for lil ol' me:
How to Read Freud - Josh Cohen. I initially picked up
The Interpretation of Dreams but after seeing me, one of the guys there showed me the How to book. OK. at first i was thinking, erm, do i not look like someone who can read primary text*? but eventually i decided i'd prefer a primer of freud than a comprehensive book on dreams. works better during conversations:D
The Communist Manifesto - Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels. because i cannot claim to be a socialist without reading this. because i've read waayyy more complicated post-marxist crap in grad school but not this which is stupid. because i probably know the content and credit Marx but i haven't actually read them as Marx wrote (OK, so it's in English, but u know what i mean)
* is it considered primary text still if it's been translated to another language?
