Summary: It's almost become a requisite shot but sometimes the ordinary picture can tell another story...
Note: this pic started it all and I can't take the story off my head even while I was doing the laundry so I decided to write it. Please excuse the grammar and spellings
It was the photographer's idea. It has always been, no matter which magazine photographer it was, that has always been part of the request:
"SMAP-san, would you please stand close to each other?"
The five obliged, moving inches closer and waited for further instructions. The photographer raied his device at eye level and looked into the eyepiece, a moment later he lowered his camera and looked at the group.
"Uh, could you please move closer? Yes, you could also put your arm around the one next to you."
"Like this?" Shingo grinned, putting his arm around Goro's shoulder and leaned against him, much to the Goro's surprise.
"Yes, please." the photographer smiled. Shingo returned the grin. "Okay then. Let's go Kimura-kun." With thism the youngest member immediately moved to kimura's left, practically bumping into Nakai as he wedged hismelf between them. Goro, meanwhile was left surprised. "Oi, I'm supposed to be here!" Nakai complained. "And you're already standing next to Kimura over there!" Leader added. Kimura had to supress a laugh when Shingo whispered to him: "Tee hee, Nakai-kun's jealous." "Katori-san can stay there. Inagaki-san, Kusanagi-san, please move closer." Nakai pouted at his lsot battle but then recovered to improvise his own pose."
"Is this okay? Gomen ne, Tsuyoshi." Leader snickered to the clueless Tsuyopon. "Okay let's take it. Three. Two. One."

Kimura can't help but grin at the photo. The staff said it will be on the front cover and kimura knew it had to be.
"It's a nice shot" the photographer beamed.
Kimura beamed. Though in his mind it was more than that. Everyone would see SMAP ina cheek-to-cheek moment in the next month's issue but to SMAP themselves, they see a different picture. For example:
Inagakai Goro in his usually sophisticated self, but in truth sulking because Shingo didn't want to stand beside him.
Himself. Kimura Takuya giving off another fangilr-killer-smile when it's just an impish smirk knowing that at the very moment the picture was taken, Shingo pulled off a joke only SMAP can understand.
Katori Shingo, his younger brother cheek-to-cheek with him. A picture perfect, SMAP sibling moment hiding the fact that Shingo intentionally stood sideways to prevent Nakai from getting close to him. Nakai Masahiro, looking adorably cute with his toothy grin, arms crossed on Shingo's shoulders in a show of friendship is actually on the verge of hitting Shingo's head with his fist.
And Kusanagi Tsuyoshi with his reserved smile is actually sad because Nakai took his revenge on Shingo by noit letting Tsuyoshi near the man. A prank for a prank. Oh, and he's also stopping Nakai from shoving Shingo.
Kimura chuckled and gave the photographer a tap on the back then excusing himself. But a few paces away, he doubled back and whispered to the photographer.
"Can you mail me a copy of that picture?" the other just nodded and stared at the photo. That's the fifth time somebody requested that...
