Genius cricket?
Last night I was feeding my gecko live crickets, as I am wont to do (and as my gecko is wont for me to do) and I opened the cricket cage and one cricket immediately leaps out to freedom and disappears out of view onto the floor. I was like "Wow! That's one smart cricket!" I crawled around on the floor looking for it for a while, but to no avail.
Today I hear a cricket in the living room, and I go in all like "Oh, shit. Now it's going to annoy everyone and everyone's going to be annoyed with me." There was no way I was finding it in there! It could be behind the couch, behind the shelves, under the radiator...who knew??? I followed the sound and found him in the easiest place possible for me to catch him. I was actually kind of disappointed, since I'd decided that he was such a genius yesterday. I guess instead of a genius, he was just horny and looking for some cricket action that he wasn't getting in the cage. Obviously, right out in the open is the perfect place to find a lady, right?
Now he is in the gecko cage. It has all been for nothing.
