Finished chapter 3 on draft three.
For the first time, I'm using the track changes function in Word. I love it. It's makes me feel so very productive. Look at all the red slashies I made! All the underlines! It feels like progress is slow, but then I look back and can actually see the progress I've made. It's a good feeling. I'm doing massive revisions during this round, scrapping entire paragraph and fully rewriting others. It's messy but necessary.
I had a very spiffy package arrive from Harper Collins yesterday featuring my contributor's copy of Six-Word Memoirs on Love & Heartbreak. Along with it they sent swag! Most of it promoted their blog, olivereader, including a stack of coasters featuring quotes from new-and-forthcoming books. I also had a small pin, some postcards, a bookmark, and a congratulatory sheet that listed ways for me to help them promote their book. I was amused to see that they actually mentioned LiveJournal. I've done my part there. Posted about it here, my other account, a book review on 50bookchallenge and a mirror of that review on LibraryThing.
But sorry, I'm not going to go into a bookstore and ask to sign my page in the book. That just seems... corny for a six-word sentence about sleeping on the couch.
