Personally, I won't be buying my dress until March at the earliest. I want to lose a bit more weight, and be sure I'm going to keep it off! As far as shoes go...for yourself, get whatever you can wear for hours and be comfortable. If they're not going to show, you can wear tennies if you want, I've seen it done. For us...I'm going to have some dyed to match my dress, if that's okay with you. It's generally not a lot more than the regular shoes, and David's might even be able to do them for us. That way we wouldn't need samples of the fabric to match. Is the guy I'm going to walk with tall? Should I be worried about heels and the like? And technically, since I've been married, it would be Matron of Honor, but I don't think I'm old enough to be a Matron. Since I'm single now, I -think- it's okay to call me Maid of Honor. Let's see...it's traditional for the bride and groom to buy some small gift for the people in their wedding party. Nothing big, it can be bath salts or something for the girls.
Advice, advice...I'd recommend the bachelorette party be Thursday night or even Wednesday if we're all there. Who should I be getting in touch with? I'd like to help plan that if I can. What would you like to do?
Register lots of places, with stuff you need at different prices. Remember that anything is returnable, and most stores are understanding if you tell them you got it for your wedding. :) If I remember correctly, it's considered bad form to put that in your invitations, tho. Buy one of those Emily Post wedding etiquette books. It's way strict, but there is some good advice in there.
ATM I'm planning on showing up either Tues. evening or Wed. morning. I plan on flying into Pittsburgh and renting a car there to drive wherever I need to go. Is there a better airport for me to fly into?
