My day just went from almost-falling-asleep-studying for Finals to the valiant rescue. I heard this shrieking cry from what sounded like a mad Mockingbird that got louder and louder to where I couldn't take it and went outside looking for the source so I could throw a rock at it. No such luck... then I realized it was coming from inside my apartment. I turned on the dryer to see if that would shut the damned bird up and it did. So then I worked on moving the dryer out of the laundry room and unhooking the vent. Still silent... as soon as I unhooked the other side, like a bat-out-of-hell the bird burst out of the tube and stumbled/flew its way into my living room scaring poor Scout. It made its way under my bed. Somehow I trapped it in the corner and picked it up with a towel. The poor thing just gave in, not even attempting to peck at me or try to escape.. exhausted from shreiking all afternoon and running away from evil creatures. I took the bird outside and put it in a bush since I could tell it was injured. Apon returning to the apartment I discovered bird shit all over my carpet and urine on my shirt.
damned birds... so independent yet so helpless at times.
Scout must have been heavily entertained, as she sat on couch watching me the entire time struggle to catch this bird. Good for nothing fatass. I hardly doubt she would be a cat that would die from curiosity.
