#002: Silence

Jul 16, 2007 19:22

I chose to retire to my place after a certain meeting I'd rather forget. But I suppose I cannot hide forever.

[But that's what you tried to do last time, wasn't it?]

... Hmph. Who did that?

[It was me. Stop acting strong, you're just as weak as your student. What was her name again...?]

I have nothing so say to a machine.

[Heh heh heh... ( Read more... )

It can...talk back to you, somehow? o_O

It... seems so. I don't understand how it possibly occurred, but I don't believe logic has much place here.

I don't really know about these...machine things...anyway. Um, not to sound dumb, but what do you call this thing?

Logic doesn't seem to have anything to do with this. I feel like I'm crazy.

A computer. They're quite common technology by now... I'm surprised someone doesn't know about them.

No, if logic had anything to do with this place I would have remained dead.

We don't really have anything like this where I'm from. ^^;;

You're...you're dead? How is that possible?

Hm. So you're not from LA... or Earth at all, then?

Yes. Well... was. I suppose that's the correct term now. And as I stated, logic doesn't seem to apply here.

LA? What is that?
I'm from Earth!! Why wouldn't I be from Earth?

....You're not...you're not an akuma, are you?

Los Angeles, a part of California, located in the United States of America.
Hm. My reasoning must be off- most people from my... version, I suppose, of Earth would know about Los Angeles and computers. As you didn't know what a computer was, I simply assumed you weren't familiar with the place. Perhaps there is yet some logic to this place.

An... akuma? I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the term. It doesn't ring of any language I speak, though it sounds vaguely Asian. Would I be correct in saying so?

In America...? No, I'm not from there. I'm from England, originally, but I've been all over.

So there really are different worlds. That's....that's hard to think about!

It's...it's a Japanese word. If you don't know it, you must not be one. I'm sorry to ask something like that.

I believe I took a vacation there, once. To... Brighton, I think.

... It seems once I thought this place had shocked me enough- bringing me here after my death- it only serves to shock more.

Oh. It's quite alright.

May I ask who I am speaking with?

I like it there. England is a nice place, I think. But I travel a lot now, so I don't really stay anywhere for too long.

It shocks me, too, to hear something like that! I'm sorry if I sounded rude or anything, it was just...surprising. ^^;

Oh! I'm sorry! My name is Allen Walker. What's yours?

Ah. Your job?

It's quite alright, really. I think I might be a bit too desensitised to it now. When I first got here I was quite the opposite, but... hm.

Celeste Inpax. It's wonderful to meet you, Mr. Walker.

Yes, my job. I'm an Exorcist.

Desensitized? Have you been here long?

Oh, no, no! I'm just a kid! Call me Allen, okay? Please?
