Ehhh, her body on you is rather strange. [She thinks for a moment.]

Are you really dead? There was something else possessing your body and it said something about a gigai.

Dead? Do I look dead to you, Wolfie? You know...I'm so sad me to hear that someone I thought I could trust thinks I'm dead! Why would you say such a thing!

[Her expression goes flat rather quickly. She does not have the sense of smell required to sense a liar. Can't through the spheres anyway.] Then were you or whatever was in your body the other day lying to me?

Sorry what? Outside of this incident, I've always been in my body!

Then why were you acting funny and acted like you had no idea who I was. [She's looking at her sphere suspiciously.]

Damn, I never did check who else he talked to I was just playing a game, a game of body and mind! My memory's a bit soggy on that day, I went and had a great couple drinks with the guys afterwords! So, would you mind telling me what I told you?

You're a horrible liar.

First it asked me not to kill it, then how to use the sphere, it did a horrible job of impersonating you then proceeded to tell me that it wasn't you. It said "you left it" in your body when you ran off to spar in your shinigami outfit. How a human can be a shinigami is beyond me, as it didn't feel like explaining. I got rather tired of being told I wasn't paying enough attention to details during my entombment.

Also it spent a good deal of time complaining.

Ha hah! He was less intelligent than I thought. I laid out instructions in the jacket pocket.

...I can't believe it got to this. Fine, I'll tell you, but first you'll have to filter this conversation.

Some decent answers would be nice. This whole thing makes my head hurt.

Let me reintroduce myself. I am Isshin Kurosaki, expert ex-shinigami. Even better, ex-captain of Soul Society.

Maybe we don't even exist in your universe, but anything stronger than a shinigami or human don't rest in our domain after they die. They go on past the world of the king. So I'm not surprised you don't know about us. If I'm not mistaken the myth goes you were imprisoned in rock for a couple hundred years anyway.

A hundred years, yes. I'd never even heard of Soul Society before this. It doesn't make any sense.

Well, first you have to understand that we may not come from the same Japan. What do shinigamis look like where you're from?

celestial_okami July 27 2009, 19:58:45 UTC

[She shakes her head.] There are none.

[Considering legends of 'shinigami' did not start cropping up in Japan until the Meiji period, and Ammy comes from a time similar to the Heian period, nearly a thousand years prior.]

Then that solves it. We don't exist in your universe, and if we did... Trust me you'd notice. I guess all Japans aren't the same.

TO answer your other question, a gigai is what shinigamis use to interact with the living. We're dead. Ain't much we can do to talk to living when we need to, so we use these gigais.

It certainly seems that way, from what I have heard of the others. [She rubs her temple, looking a little tired.]

So what is a gigai? A vessel for your spirit?
