Sniffle
Today I went to my old schools to clean out my desks. Much to my surprise, two of them had no idea I was even changing schools, and none of them know who is coming in to replace me. Way to be organized and on top of things, board of education people.
It was hard. I've worked with these people for almost two years, and suddenly it's, "Okay, go clean out your desk, because you don't work here anymore". I ran into some of my students at the junior high and on my way back, and they all seemed shocked and upset I was leaving. One little girl ran alongside my bicycle all the way down the street. =(
And, despite my best efforts, I started crying while I was giving a little "goodbye and thank you" speech at my favorite school. Way to be professional and mature, Amanda. Sigh.
I need to cheer up. It's not fair to my new schools if I go in resenting them, but I can't quite help it at the moment.
