Which Historical Lunatic Are You?From the fecund loins of Rum and Monkey. Yes, this is the King of France at Joan of Arc's birth, father of Charles VII, the Dauphin whom she lead to coronation at Reims. He was nutters and made a mess of the 100 years war. His brother, the Duke of Orléans got in a terrible feud with the Duke of Burgindy. Their factions became known as the Armagnacs and the Burgundians. His wife, Queen Isabeau of Bavaria, arranged the Traty of Troyes, which disinheritted her own son in favor of the child of the English king. She was tired of war. Her kid wasn't having it though, noting that there wasn't legal precident for passing the throne off to a foreign power. In 1429, The English and Burgundians had the Duke of Orléans in jail and were seiging the city. It was surrounded on three sides. The Armagnacs couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag at hat time, alas. They tried to disrupt a shipment of herrings and it turned into a rout. Although, the herrings did mostly get spilled onto the ground, so even though they lost a bunch of fighters, they did kind of interfere with the food supply for the siegers. Oh hell, they were screwed. And then this Drag King from the boonies showed up and turned everything around in a week. Everything! And then all up and down the Loire! Amazing!
And see, none of that would have been possible if Charles the VI hadn't been so completely inept.
So there you go.
