So excence showed me the Polish version of this kind of list. And since the Hungarian version wasn't translated, I decided to give it a go. If something is not clear then ask. It might have some flaws since it was pretty late when I translated it.

You know you're Hungarian when...

1. When you use more sour cream than ketchup.
2. When paprika is as important as salt and pepper.
3. When someone from your family is called Attila. Or József. Or János. Or László. Or István.
4. When you love Túró Rudi, but you can't really describe what the hell it is to anyone until they try it.
5. When your foreign friends ask you if you still believe in that Santa Claus brings you presents at dawn of December 25th and you're quite confused because Santa Claus brings the presents on December 6, and little Jesus brings the presents on the evening of December 24.
6. When you don't speak with full mouth.
7. When you can swear for 5 minutes straight without using the same word 2 times.
8. When you wear your engagement ring on your left hand.
9. When the train haven't even left the station but you're already eating your sandwich (which usually contains paprika, tomato, and fried meat)
10. When you call a 79 km long lake the "Hungarian Sea".
11. When you never go out with wet hair because you'll catch a cold, and you always carry a hair drier if you go abroad, and you're perplexed to learn that someone doesn't have a hair drier at home.
12. When you always take the same seat even if the whole room is empty and your seat is in the back of the room.
13. When you know what is pogácsa/dobostorta/körtős kalács/főzelék/túrógombóc and you love them.
14. When you're much more inventive than any other nationality when it comes to cheating.
15. When Winnie Pooh and The Flinstones are much funnier with Hungarian dub.
16. When you know that "rézfánfütyülő rézangyalát = a copper angel who whistles on a copper tree" is actually a swearing.
17. When you have a nameday and nobody knows why it is good.
18. When you use fruits for making soup.
19. When you know that every genius or famous person has a Hungarian connection or they’re just simply Hungarian.
20. When you tell everyone that Rubic's cube is a Hungarian invention.
21. When you swear that garlic and honey tea will make you healthy in one day.
22. When you were a child you had to eat lots of carrots, and when you asked your parents why, they answered "So you can whistle better."
23. When it's hard to explain that your Family name is the first one, and Given name is the second one.
24. When you know that red wine with cola is a delicious combination, and it is strange that foreigners think it is strange.
25. When they pull your ear when wishing Happy Birthday.
26. When there's thermal water or spa in your town or near your town.
27. When you know which nation gave birth to most of the Nobel-prize winners.
28. When you know what is tepertős pogácsa.
29. When you're standing in the rain and you know you will grow taller.
30. When you can talk about any private matters to any stranger in the bus or when waiting for the doctor, but when they ask about your financial circumstances, you're outraged.
31. When the normal sized pillow is not sufficient, it must be gigantic or miniature.
32. When you speak in Hungarian to a foreigner but slower and louder so they would "understand" it.
33. When you eat (floating island = madártej, but in Hungarian it means=)bird's milk for dessert.
34. When you don't waste food, and put away the leftovers for the other day.
35. When fairy tales don't end like "and they lived happily ever after." but "they lived happily until they died."
36. When your grandmother threatens you that your face will remain like that if you make faces.
37. When you grow hot paprika in the garden or in the balcony in a little pot, so you can guarantee that it will be spicy/hot.
38. When foreigners don't understand that you shouldn't eat watermelon after August 15 because Lőrinc has peed in it.
