The Perseid Meteor Shower August 12, 2007

I  wanted to share one of our passions with you: Star gazing, with particular emphasis on meteor showers. I mean, who doesn't love optimizing your wish-making opportunities, right? Especially if you have a starry-eyed 9-year-old daughter like mine. This is a yearly end-of-summer bonding ritual for us. We take to the Hill Country with blankets and snacks and give our gratitude to the wonder of the Universe.

For instance, the Perseids fall on next Monday, and there will be a New Moon; perfect for viewing shooting stars. And making wishes.
