Friendliness. People will say hi when you're walking along the bike path, or running, or whatever. Perfect strangers too. Quite unlike Paris, where you can go on a run and go past a million different people who are probably perfectly nice but not one makes eye contact or smiles or anything.
Biking everywhere. And it's safe. Of course, I do miss the metro. But I do love biking.
Randomly running into people I know. It doesn't actually happen that often, and for sure not as often as at Carleton, but it's refreshing after Paris. I loved Paris, but for all the little things, I wouldn't want to live there. Go back and stay for a while, yes, but not live there.
