And now i'm going to talk about track like the track nerd i am.
ohhh man, 3 days of track meets...conference championships...insane. and beyond exhausting.
Thursday: I did my first pentathlon!!! (That's 55m hurdles, High Jump, shot put, Long jump and 800m.) My times/distances/heights weren't too hot...but i know i can do better. For example, my hurdle race sucked. i couldn't 3-step for beans and i just didn't have any rythym. and then high jump i had some fantastic jumps...when the bar was low, and when it got higher i lost my oomph. and shot put. well. i've never thrown in competition. so i've got a ways to go. and long jump, i had an awesome one that i fouled. grrrr. and then my last 2 sucked. and 800m went well, for my first 800m race ever. it's kinda a fun distance.
Friday: long jump. sucked like none other. i had no energy. not a good day.
Saturday: Triple jump...I jumped an inch less than my season best, so that was happy....(i'm still 2 feet from my pr from last year, but last year at this time i definitely hadn't jumped that well, so i've still got outdoor season! and then 4x200m...i felt slow, but my split was faster than it'd been all season!!! i got under 29 seconds, so that was happy. and then i could relax, and enjoy watching the rest of the meet. i LOVE track meets!!! sooooo excting! man, the 3000? crazy awesome race. and of course 4x4relay.
In other news, i registered for spring term. I signed up for intro to sociology, the immigrant experience and american social history from 1865-1945. it looks like i probably won't take any of those classes. One class i wanted to take i couldn't register for because apparently freshmen can't take it. so i emailed the prof and he said i could take it. so i'm going to take Ragtime to Football: America 1890s. Also, art classes are weird and you have to apply for them. so I did, and I got into photo!!! hooray! now i can apply for the winter break photo trip to hawaii next year!!! and lastly, i waitlisted for Bio 126, and I'm hoping i can take that. so that's the story.
