AEROGEDDON was hugely awesome.
And hugely nerve-wracking all day.
Why, you ask?
Because, dear friends -- the movie wasn't FINISHED on Sunday morning, like it was 'sposed to be.
It wasn't finished in the afternoon.
It wasn't finished in time for soundcheck at 5pm.
And it wasn't even finished when we opened the doors at 8pm.
Our show was at 9pm.
When did we get the final edit on tape from Cisco?
8:46pm
Yep. We were totes LIVIN' ON THE EDGE. We were all pacing and nervous and checking our phones. It added an exciting element to the evening, but one I could have lived without :)
We started the show promptly after Cisco's arrival. The movie was genius and brilliantly put together. Cisco worked very hard on it. The audience loved it and so did the Society. Huzzah!
Then, the Aerosmith cover night commenced. I thought all performers did a great job! K-Pop brought it hard to start us off: covering "my big 10" record" and the cover-of-the-cover of the Shangri-Las "Remember (Walkin' in the Sand)", then Erin Stewart did a hilarious rag-time/jug band version of "Rag Doll", Scotty B. performed "Cryin" and "Dude looks like a Lady" with altered lyrics, Lords of Sorrow did an AMAZING rendition of "Livin' on the Edge" and Southside did "Walk this Way" and "Sweet Emotion".
Having little time to throw together music in the past few days, I only performed one song, 'Janie's Got a Gun'. It was an elaborate set-up for one song, but I was happy with it. I sang it with a vocoder, a gameboy and a drum machine. I hate Aerosmith, actually -but this song was always my "exception song", which I have for most bands I hate. (I hate U2 but I love the song "Stay")
If you missed it/could not go, DVDs of AEROGEDDON will be available for sale and for rent soon! Prolly within the week. The DVD will include a behind-the-scenes featurette, feature commentary, outtakes, photo slideshow, a karaoke music video and more!
Yay!
Now back to my regular life! Writing an album! Working on other videos! Turning 28 next month! Ahhh!!!
