Hello (fake) sembreak. I commence my photoblogging for this sembreak as I did in
last year.
Well, it's a fake sembreak all right. The day after my last exams, I had to worry about this:
Enlistment in UP will ALWAYS be such a tedious process, so it's easy to tell remedial law classes "bring it." So today, first order of business was to get my password for next term's bidding. I saw
Ags, Patrick and Yas. We were sharing our woes about how to dodge terror professors this term. We all love the block system, but it's still, in the end, a matter of survival.
After awhile, I did some backlog work because I still have to submit digests for Criminal Procedure, so my REAL sembreak really starts on the 3rd when I submit that. But that's just cruel because I think classes start on the 10th. So yes, fake sembreak starts now. And then I went around trying to take photos from unusual places in UP Law. Guess where this is from:
The cover photo of this entry is Tonton Mina and Grace Lazaro btw, conferring about, if I hazard a guess, Prof. Labitag's orals.
I know this will sound weird and mundane, but I decided to use the loo in Econs. I don't know. I like the fact that they have liquid soap and I didn't have alcohol. And guess who I bumped into???
Marian, who's about to get her MA in Econ, and me, trying to look like Juno
The funny thing is, I bump into Marian again 5 hours later, but this time at Trinoma, which I hit because I really didn't want to stay home because of my mom's construction project, it's really dusty in our house during day (explains why I did most of my weekday studying for the finals in school). When I was at Fully Booked Express, couldn't help but notice this:
Yes, chic lit is a genre. Speaking of which, the chic flick of the year was just AMAZING!! I don't know how overrated this is but (500) Days of Summer was so LOVELY! I loved it I loved it I loved it. I had a personal connection to Zooey Deschanel's character, I just LOVE the cast, the way the narrative was told (super post-modern, non-linear), and the cheesy attack on fatalism. It's such a feel-good movie. I almost didn't get to watch this one because I was with my sister and her friend and her friend was still under some post-break-up trauma, BUT I'M SO GLAD I DID. And she didn't feel that bad about it either. In fact, I think it's the PERFECT break-up film. But that's just me. =P
After the film, we went around the mall. I'm looking for a Rachel Berry-esque tunic/dress like the one she wore in Preggers when she sang
Taking Chances. This was the closest I found:
Didn't get it thou'. It was more tunic and less dress, couldn't be worn without bottoms.
I started my sembreak blog last year with
milk tea. I tried the Nanyang Milk Tea from Toast Box and I love love love how sweet it is. It has a very authentic Southeast Asian vibe to it, the kind I saw Bobby Chin try to do in World Café Asia when he went to Malaysia. So if you hate coffee and love tea like me, go try this one out. (=
